Build an Art Car with Mr. Shrine

Eureka Springs artist Ralph Wilson conducted his very popular Children’s Art Car Workshop at the Pinnacle Hills Arts & Food Festival and Living It Green Expo on Saturday and Sunday.

Ralph Wilson, who is known worldwide as "Mr. Shrine" hosted his hands-on family and children’s art-car activity at the Kid's Arts Activities area.

Mr. Shrine was located adjacent to the Walton Arts Center Festival Stage, near the Banana Republic store, on Park Place.

Kid's coloring contest at Pinnacle Hills Arts & Food Festival helped name the new elephant, monkey, and giraffe animals coming to Pinnacle Hills Promenade's Carousel ride.

The only place we know of in Northwest Arkansas where kids can see an elephant, giraffe, and a monkey was at the Pinnacle Hills Arts & Food Festival, September 11-13, 2009 at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers, Arkansas.

The animals have become the newest additions to the already colorful creatures of the Promenade’s Carousel ride located in the Pinnacle Hills Promenade Food Pavilion.

However, before the animals could join the rest of the animal kingdom on the ride, they needed new names.

So, kids from across Northwest Arkansas were invited to join the search for the perfect name and submit their choice during the 3rd annual Pinnacle Hills Arts & Food Festival, September 11-13, 2009.

The Kid's coloring contest was located near to the Walton Arts Center Festival Stage, on Park Place across from the Banana Republic store.

The carousel at Pinnacle Hills Promenade used to be in Biloxi, Mississippi where it survived Hurricane Katrina. Refurbished and repainted by hand, the carousel will offer rides throughout the festival.

Operator Gary Hood says, "We look back fondly and remember the things that gave us joy when we were children. I'm fortunate enough to indulge other children now in their fantasies and their delights."
